Butcher's Crossing
Today i watched a good movie - Butcher's Crossing. Its about the Great Bison Hunt of 1875. At the end, before rolling creditys there was a slide that said some 60 million bison were killed. My daughter looked at me and asked, "papa, what happened to all the bison". A simple yet powerful question. I thought to myself - what happened to the bison. It seems like the same thing happened to the Native Americans. The same thing happened to the jews and its the same thing that keeps happening in Bosnia, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Syria, Ukraine. But i can not say that to her therefore i changed the subject and sent her off to bed. I did not have the heart to tell her that humans are like that and we have not changed one bit. We need to kill in order to fill a bottomless pit. Colonize Mars my ass, we ain't even fit to exist on Earth.
